Izzy smirked when Ikki said that he didn't sleep all the time. After he said that he'd be right back, Izzy shrugged,"Suit yourself~,"she chimed before pulling out her deck of cards again. By the time Ikki came back, Izzy had managed to make an almost complete pyramid out of cards. Looking up at Ikki, Izzy smirked,"Awww, you didn't like your makeover~?"she teased as she put the last card on top before quickly smashing the pyramid, somehow not dropping any on the floor in the process.
Picking up the cards, Izzy placed them back in her pocket before Ikki turned her chair and asked her to read the tenth line. That was a little difficult if Izzy was honest with herself, several days on little to no sleep certainly didn't help her vision. Heck, she could just barely read the tenth line on a good day but now... "All right~,"Izzy chimed before looking at the tenth line. After a few moments of staring at the line, Izzy finally stopped seeing double long enough to tell what the letters were,".....A...B....P....C....O....H... How's that?"Izzy said rather slowly before smiling once again.

"Make over my ass," was the flat, prompt statement that escaped from Ikki without a second thought. He wasn't one to hold back any words even towards- or especially towards- his regular patients. "How disrespectful," he muttered at her for another moment more before actually starting the next test of sorts.
With a heightened sense of visual perception that came with being a surgeon and being born deaf- thus having some conversations only in sign language which he was forced to pick up just in case something actually happen to his mechanical parts, Ikki found the lines rather easy to read- save for a few of the very last lines. He'd once considered getting a mechanical eye, but after some thoughts - and arguments with Hanako that lasted till her dying day- he gave up on the idea. With her gone, it somehow felt worse to even consider such a thing again, and even thinking about it now was slowly killing his mood. There was literally nothing he could do about it right then and there anyways- least he take up the speculative art of necromancy and HAH that was a laugh.
As Izzy read off the lines, Ikki frowned. She'd gotten only a few of the letters correct, and after a moment or so, he sighed. "Read the next line above that," he said wondering if maybe he was asking too-- HAH that was funny too. He never asked too much of people. He expected too much from them, and why the heck not? If they didn't live up to his expectations that was their problem not his. Then again, not even a five star restaurant lived up to Ikki's expectations, but so what? That just meant the world needed to work a little harder for him~ Like Ikki was really the person to be thinking that considering his more than lazy life-style. However, hypocracy was king.

Izzy smiled at hearing the comment about the supposed makeover and returned her attention to the chart. Great...seeing double again, heck even the large E seemed to have a twin... Blinking a few times, Izzy looked at the line above the one she'd read. That was a little easier to read at least...now if only they would stop dancing with their preverbial partners... Blinking a few more times, Izzy managed to clear her vision at least enough to stop seeing double,"....E....B....P....L...T...E...O..."she stated calmly before looking over at Ikki. Eye tests were always tedious and boring, even on a good day Izzy had a hard time sitting still long enough to do them. It may or may not be true that Izzy had ADHD or even ADD but that was debatable...she just didn't concentrate on things that were boring very well.

Ikki frowned a little as the few seconds passed in between, and even after Izzy had finished reading the letters, his visage was less than pleased. Looking at the chart, he folded his arms and then slowly walked around Izzy to stand in front of her. "Either you need glasses or a lot of sleep," he said his tone reflecting something of distilled irritation.
From the page he'd reflected on before starting up the examination, her eyesight had been normal, and she should have been able to read that line up. "Or is there something else you're not telling me?" he asked slowly forcing a smile onto his features. Maybe he did go a little hard on his patients, but that was Ikki for you. He wouldn't admit he wasn't like other doctors, but even he was aware that he didn't fit the general bill at times. In the end whether this was for better or for worse, it was up to other people to decide.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" he asked flicking up three fingers with ease and shifting his hand only for Izzy to see it a bit better. Was he really doing such a silly stunt of sorts? Yep. Was he trying to make a point? Dr. Yamaagoe wouldn't tell when it came down to it, so it was anyone's guess.

Izzy's eyes followed Ikki even as he walked in front of her, arms crossed. At his next words, Izzy smiled and shrugged her shoulders as if her lack of sleep wasn't really that big of a deal. Yeah, Izzy probably cared more about making sure her latest project was complete than taking care of her own body. As long as she was able to complete the tasks she needed to do, it didn't really matter...or at least to Izzy it didn't. At Ikki's next question, Izzy simply shook her head before Ikki held up his hand and asked how many fingers he was holding up. Making a tch sound, Izzy rolled her eyes before looking at Ikki's hand and-.....ok that was weird...since when was it possible to have six fingers held like that. Blinking, Izzy looked again...yep, still there...all right then... "Either you did something to your hand or my eyes have decided to play tricks on me,"Izzy replied, laughing softly before blinking again,"Six...no...three. Yeah...three,"she replied easily, smile never leaving her face.

Ikki blinked, and a purple eye slid to his hand briefly as Izzy spoke. No that was silly; even if it was his mechanized hand that he had decided to hold up, it still had five fingers- or rather four fingers and a thumb if one really wanted to get critical. It was true that there were six fingered individuals, and it was also true that, oddly enough, it was a dominant trait. However, Ikki wasn't one of those people. Hm... it would be nice to maybe have a- Right. He'd think about that later on and maybe add some new things to his hand, heh.
After a moment, Izzy changed her guess of sorts only causing him to sigh and fold his arms in front of himself yet again. A rather calm but less than happy expression remained on his features, and he slowly turned his head to one side. "And how many of me are there in this room?" he jokingly teased- or rather hoped he was teasing considering he wasn't quite sure what he would do if she happened to say two- before frowning again.
"Would you like to lie down?" was the next question that followed. She'd managed to drive there, but the question of whether she could drive back safely was now coming to mind. He would much rather save those on the road a chance of injury if he could- despite the fact that it might bring him some more business and- nah... Not right now. He was supposed to be a good doctor, right? Right. Riiiight? ....Damnit.... Shaking his head briefly, he managed a calmer smile. "I have a bed in one of the other rooms, if you maybe want to take a quick nap before continuing this examination."

Izzy looked up at Ikki as he sighed and shrugged nonchalantly when she saw his expression. At his question, Izzy laughed softly at the rather apparent tease. Of course there was only one other person in the room aside from her. But what logic said and what her eyes were saying were two different things entirely. Every so often an almost mirror image of Ikki appeared in Izzy's vision only to disappear as she blinked. "That's silly, of course there's only one of you~," Izzy chimed, shaking her head slightly as if that would help her vision any.
Seeing Ikki frown again, Izzy simply shrugged, her cheerful demeanor not fading even for a moment. Hearing the question, Izzy tilted her head slightly and blinked,"What for? I feel fine~,"she replied easily.

Ikki's lip twitched, yet after a moment, a smirk slowly set itself on his features. "Because seeing six instead of three argues you're not," he replied slowly setting his hands in his pockets and smiling dryly. It was slowly irking him that she woudn't take care of herself or at least adhere to his words, but he'd figure another way around or so.. "And do you remember my statistic on car wrecks? Sight is another aspect of driving, is it not? It's also very important with nearly all of work, especially your work," he continued. "What would happen if you used the wrong equipment just because it looked like something similar to something else?" he asked. "It would be rather bad for work wouldn't it?"

Izzy blinked at Ikki's reply and simply shrugged nonchalantly. Sure her eyes were playing tricks on her but it wasn't that big of a deal. Izzy was about to say something else when Ikki began to lecture her once again. Nearly deadpanning, Izzy sighed quietly , tempted to start playing with her cards again but decided against it. That and she would probably make a mess if she tried to shuffle them now. What was this, give-Izzy-a-lecture-day...? "Yeah I remember,"Izzy began before Ikki continued to speak. As he went on about accidents and how lack of sleep, or in her case, her vision could effect her driving and work, Izzy had to fight to keep from zoning out. Not paying attention to Ikki now wouldn't help her case at all. When Ikki finally finished Izzy sighed and smiled slightly,"Yamagoe-san~ are you going to give me a lecture every time I do something you don't like~?"she asked in a light, if somewhat curt voice, folding her arms across her chest as she spoke.
Slowly standing up, Izzy breathed out quietly,"You're not going to stop badgering me until I get some sleep are you..."she replied in a light enough voice before shaking her head slightly,"Fiine, where was the room you were talking about...?"

Ikki smirked dryly at Izzy's first comment though it fell into something more calm than not. This was who he was as a doctor when it came down to it. Though he was a harsh human by nature and tended to prefer machines over most some people, he was also a caring doctor deep down- though this 'caring' was a bit obscure to most people. Even Ikki couldn't help but admit that. "Of course," he replied in a matter of act tone that could probably cause just about anyone to question why they would ask such a stupid statement whatever it may have been "You should know me better than that," he finished lightly.
As she finally agreed to his words, Ikki simply smiled and made a gesture out of the office. "This way~" he chimed more than a little pleased that he got his way. He liked winning- even when it wasn't exactly the regular type of 'win'. It could be argued that he wasn't 'winning' for getting his patient to do what was medically best for her, but it was a win in Ikki's book. Call him immature. As he walked down the hall a short ways, Ikki turned and pushed open a door leading to a room with a surprisingly push medical bed that Ikki sometimes used himself -- which was why he was sure it was soft of course! He had to test it out, yes.... "Here you go~" he smiled making a directional gesture.

Izzy rolled her eyes at Ikki's confirmation of her earlier statement and sighed. She hated lectures, there was no need to go on and on about a topic she already knew about and frankly didn't care for. Being lectured...once...twice...in one day wasn't making Izzy very happy to say the least. Muttering quietly under her breath, Izzy fought the urge to roll her eyes again and smiled as Ikki finally led the way to the room he had been referring to. Yeah yeah she had let him 'win' but Izzy knew that her body had given her enough warning signs that she was at her limit. She had simply chosen to ignore them in preference of finishing working on her baby...among other things.
Walking behind Ikki, Izzy once again found her thoughts wandering back to her shop. Had she remembered to turn on the security system...oh and there was that blueprint she still had to work on. Mmm, where would she get the materials needed for that...so much still to do... Izzy was so lost in thought that she almost ran into Ikki as he stopped and opened the door to the aforementioned room. "Hmm...? Oh, thanks Yamagoe-san~,"Izzy replied lightly, snapping out of her daze of sorts before heading into the room. Kicking off her shoes and socks, Izzy all but flopped on the bed and closed her eyes, not even bothering with the covers. Mmmm, this was rather comfy....maybe she could just take a...little nap... It was only a few moments later that Izzy's breathing steadied as she drifted off to sleep.

Nearly being run into wasn't exactly the best sign to Ikki under any circumstances, and he mentally sighed if only for a moment before smiling again and looking more amused than not. As Izzy flopped on the bed, he simply gave a prompt nod and smiled. "Pleasant dreams," he hummed before slowly closing the door. Though some would have expected the doctor to simply head to his office, Ikki actually didn't. Instead, he stayed just on the other side of the door carefully listening to the sounds from it. The last thing he really needed was some sort of defiance in the form of sneaking out---
Oh dear, he sounded like a father didn't he? A dry and rather cracked expression came to Ikki's thoughts as he contemplated this. I am getting old, huh, Han? I guess that's what I get.... he thought quietly looking up to the ceiling tiles and feeling a sudden wave of depression rush over him. They'd been planning to have kids, hadn't they? He couldn't even imagine a few little ones running around, but he was sure Hanako would have been a great mother at the very least. Face red with a mix of peace and sorrow, he stood there for a few minutes longer having forgotten exactly why he was there in the first place. I guess it just wasn't meant to be... As if Yamagoe Ikki actually believe din destiny, but that was far from the point at the moment anyways.
Upon realizing that he was still standing there almost ten minutes after he's watched Izzy disappear into the room, Ikki shook his head dryly and quietly headed back to his office. However, just before actually getting to his office, the receptionist happened to flag him down from a different hallway saying that food had been delivered and that she'd made sure to put it on his expense report. Laughing only a little, Ikki took the food once more and headed back to his office.

What Izzy had meant to be a half-hour at most ended up being closer to 3 hours before she finally stirred, half expecting to be in her own apartment. Still groggy, Izzy slowly opened her eyes and stared at the unfamiliar surroundings for a few moments before remembering that she was at the doctor's office. That was right...Ikki had insisted she'd get some sleep and...what time was it anyway... Raising her arm to look at the watch on her wrist, Izzy groaned and let her arm fall back on the bed. Had she really been out that long...ugh...and now she had a headache. This was part of the reason Izzy hadn't wanted to sleep in the first place...nine times out of ten she woke up with a migraine and apparently this wasn't her lucky day.
Slowly sitting up, Izzy swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood. Ugh...that had certainly not done her head any favors...massaging her temple to attempt to ease the pain, Izzy left the room and blinked at the sudden brightness of the hallway. Heading towards Ikki's office, Izzy sincerely hoped that the migraine would go away soon...or at the very least ease up a little. As she neared Ikki's office she caught the familiar scent of chocolate and smiled...that was right, they'd ordered food before Ikki had convinced her to sleep some. Not even bothering to knock, Izzy pushed open the office door and forced a smile despite how much her head was killing her,"Why didn't you tell me that the food was here?"she asked in a semi-teasing voice as she leaned against the wall,"I hope you didn't eat my cake Yamagoe-san~."

As Izzy slept, Ikki munched his own food and proceeded to count the dos on the ceiling up until his receptionist had walked in and said that another patient was coming soon. Much to his distaste and pleasure he welcomed in this new patient, worked on a few things and general upkeep and sent the boy on his way once more. As if on another cue, yet another few people drizzled in keeping Ikki a bit more busy than normal. When things had finally settled, he'd finished off his own food and had set Izzy's hot dish in the microwave not having touched any of hers.
The sudden push of his door caused Ikki's eyes to travel upwards from the book he was reading to stare at her for a moment taking in what had been said. Briefly he stared before a laugh escaped from him. "Because you needed the sleep, and don't worry, you're food's in tact," he replied before leaning sideways and pressing a button on the microwave. It was probably a little more than unconventional for a doctor to have such things in his office, but Ikki wasn't actually preforming any sort of medical procedures in such office. He kept it spotless anyways.
"Now how many fingers am I holding up?" he asked raising his hand once more and waiting for some sort of answer. There were only two fingers in the air this time around.

Izzy smirked at Ikki's reply and shook her head,"That could've waited a little while at least~,"she replied back easily before stepping into the office and sitting in one of the chairs. Hearing the familiar hum of the microwave, Izzy glanced over at the food spinning inside before looking back at Ikki. Oh great...the silly finger thing again...? Rolling her eyes, Izzy looked at Ikki's fingers if only to get him off her back. Probably because of the migraine, the doctor's fingers wavered slightly, making it appear as if there were six instead of the original two. Blinking, Izzy stared at the fingers probably a little longer than she needed to before her eyes finally decided to cooperate. "Two,"Izzy replied in a light voice before promptly closing her eyes and rubbing her temple slightly. Ugh...of all the times she could have gotten a migraine this was possibly one of the worst moments ever...
