As a general rule, one is required to have a certain amount of fearlessness when it comes to dealing with the exotic big cats of Ueno Zoo - and Kouryou certainly is not lacking in the bravery department. However lacking he is in fear and knowledge for his own safety, however, he is incredibly perceptive when it comes to acknowledging the safety and well-being of others, always much better at providing for someone else than for himself. When it comes to getting the job done, Kouryou is the guy to find; he takes a lot of weight on promising things and telling people you're going to do something for him, and rarely skips out on his responsibilities. He is also entirely patient, able to wait out even the longest of tirades - and growing up in a very disciplined family, he too has taken on that trait.

As much as he would like to think he is not, Kouryou is terribly critical. He can be kind, but unfortunately, he finds it hard not to identify the things people are doing wrong - probably because he thinks he can do it so much better than they're doing. The problem is that he doesn't know how to say it well. If he's got something unkind to say to you, he's going to say it to you unkindly or in the most difficult, abrasive way possible - he's got no idea how to be tactful about any sensitive conversation. He's distant, finding it easier to keep people a little bit away than letting them in, and he doesn't trust easily. Growing up, he had a family that was rather wealthy and put a lot of value on material things - and Kouryou is the same way today, putting too much weight into the things that you can buy or purchase.
